Professional Bio

BEGINNINGS
My first contact with the world of publicity and advertising was by chance, at the age of 13. One of my parent’s neighbours had an advertising studio and was a producer. He would see me pass by every day when I went with my brother and sister to school. He spoke with my parents and I had my first tests, still not knowing they were called castings, and they took me on for my first television advert. It was for a well-known brand of ice-cream, and I had to say: “Delicious strawberry flavour”. Following this anecdote, I continued studying and doing the odd small modelling job. At the age of 17 I travelled to Milan and began my career as a professional model.
In Europe, I worked for a lot of fashion magazines, and by so doing I put together an international “Book”, which opened many doors for me.
My first big jobs weren’t long in appearing, on the catwalks of Milan, Paris, New York and Tokyo.

FASHION SHOWS
On international catwalks I modelled for designers such as Armani, Dolce&Gabbana, Valentino, Max Mara, Carolina Herrera, Escada, Byblos, Loewe , Anne Klein or Guy Laroche, amongst others. And as part of national fashion shows, I spent many years on the Gaudí Barcelona and Cibeles Madrid catwalks.

SPORTS ILLUSTRATED and “FAME”
In 1990 I appeared on the cover of the legendary sports magazine par excellence in the United States, Sports Illustrated. This publication launched me on to the international stage and I began to work as a renowned model for the very best photographers and most prestigious fashion magazines.

MAGAZINES
My picture has been on the cover of Vogue USA, in the magazine Elle in its diverse French, Canadian, American, Spanish, Swedish and Italian editions, Harper´s Bazaar, Glamour USA, Marie Claire, Telva, Ocean Drive, New Woman, Donna, Mademoiselle, Yo Dona or Amica. I have worked with great photographers such as Bruce Weber, Hans Feurer, Gilles Bensimon, Ellen Von Unwerth, Oliviero Toscani, Steven Meisel, Outumuro, Fabrizio Ferri, Albert Watson , Patrick Demarchelier, JM Ferrater or Toni Bernad amongst many others.

ADVERTISING
I have worked on both national and international advertising campaigns for firms such as Max Mara, Laurèl by Escada, Armand Bassi, Pronovias, Betty Barclay, Georges Rech, Mango, Swarovski, Majestic , Palmers Lingerie, Norit, Vitesse, Multiopticas, Natura Bissé, Clairol, Lancaster, Clarins , Timotei, Donuts, El Corte inglés, Unión Suiza, Olay, Ferrero Rocher, amongst many others. Currently I am the ambassador of Excellence Crème for l´Oreal Paris.

OLYMPIC GAMES BCN
I was chosen as ambassador for the 1992 Olympic Games in my city of Barcelona, something which made my face very well known around the world. I enjoyed the event hugely!

BOOKS
I have written two books “The book of Judit Mascó” with publisher Plaza y Janés, and “Model” with the publisher Planeta, and co-author of the book about health and wellness "Las maravillas de la flora" with Amat publisher. I have always liked reading, but the adventure of writing was quite unique. I have written opinion pieces in women’s magazine Mujer de Hoy and columns in the newspaper El Periódico de Cataluña on issues of fashion, wellbeing and current affairs.

TELEVISION
Without leaving my career as a model to one side, I combined it with television work, presenting “Bellas y Bestias” on Tv3, “Cartelera y CarteleraTVE” on Tve, “Betrópolis” on Barcelona Televisión, the Supermodel 2006 and Supermodel 2007 competitions, on Canal Cuatro, the “Els 25” competition on Tv3, the programme “Actívate, el reto del bienestar” (Get active: the wellbeing challenge) on Tve2 , as well as numerous participations in diverse other programmes.

PRESENTER
I am the host/presenter for galas and events such as the Centenary Gala of the International Athletics Federation, Advertising Gala, Marie Claire Beauty Awards, 50th Anniversary of the Telva magazine, etc.

TV GUEST
Collaborations on television programmes such as ‘Sabor a ti’ , “A la carta”, “La Columna”, “Set de Nit”…

VIDEOCLIPS
I took part in the musical video for the La Unión band with the song “Fueron los celos”. I have wonderful memories of this experience!

FILM
Supporting roles in the films "El largo invierno del 39" by Jaime Camino, and "Después del sueño" by Mario Camús. (1991). Two wonderful experiences surrounded by great actors.

RADIO GUEST PRESENTER
Collaborations on RNE Radio “Hoy no es un día cualquiera” (Today is not just any other day) and on SER’s “La Ventana” (The Window). For 4 years I worked on the radio programme of journalist Antoni Bassas for Catalunya Radio on the section “The Mascó Suite” and “Judit, què em poso?” Subsequently, a further 4 years on Catalunya Radio every week and with the journalist Manel Fuentes. I enjoy communicating and radio is one of the mediums I most enjoy.

CURRENTLY
I currently combine my media career with my image for diverse advertising campaigns and my work as events host.
